Overview:
Forklift Virginia’s summer culinary camp continues with a fresh lineup of global recipes, hands-on kitchen skill-building, and creative culinary challenges. Designed for campers ages 10 and up, this session blends essential cooking techniques with themed days focused on comfort food, brunch favorites, bold Tex-Mex dishes, and a sweet celebration to end the week. Each camper will work at their own station, take home what they make, and earn a graduation certificate on Friday.

Daily Themes and Menus:

Day 1: Knife Skills & Safety Certification
Campers begin with a safety overview and hands-on knife training. After passing their certification test, they’ll prepare roasted tomato soup, veggie and cheese quesadillas with sour cream and salsa, and fresh fruit skewers with yogurt dip.

Day 2: One-Pan Comfort Food
Campers will learn to cook practical, flavorful meals like chicken stir-fry with brown rice, stovetop mac and cheese, and warm apple hand pies.

Day 3: Breakfast & Brunch Favorites
Morning meets creativity as campers make mini Belgian waffles topped with berries, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream, breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes, oven-baked bacon, and fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Day 4: Tex-Mex Takeover
Hands-on flavor fun with house-made tortillas for chicken and veggie quesadillas, fire-roasted salsa, fresh guacamole, and baked cinnamon sugar churros with chocolate dipping sauce.

Day 5: Pastry Chef Party – Birthday Treats Edition
To celebrate the week, campers will bake and decorate layered birthday cakes, assemble mini fruit pies, and create hand-crafted ice cream sandwiches using homemade cookies and sprinkles.
