Overview
Join us for a fun, hands-on culinary adventure at Forklift Virginia, Rosendale’s boutique cooking school, led by our team of professional chefs. Designed for kids ages 10 and up, this camp introduces essential cooking techniques while exploring global flavors through interactive lessons.
Each day, young chefs will learn to cook at their own workstation, gaining confidence in knife skills, dough-making, pasta-making, and pastry arts. By the end of the week, they’ll have mastered a variety of dishes and techniques—and have delicious samples to bring home!

Daily Themes & Menus
Day 1: Asian Cuisine – Noodles & Sushi
Morning:
- Learn essential knife skills for slicing and chopping
- Make fresh hand-rolled noodles from scratch
- Prepare a flavorful stir-fry beef with vegetables and teriyaki glaze
Afternoon:
- Master the art of sushi rolling
- Create California rolls and veggie sushi
- Learn how to make perfectly seasoned sushi rice
Day 2: Mexican Fiesta – Taco Tuesday!
- Make fresh hand-pressed corn tortillas
- Prepare guacamole and fire-roasted salsa with homemade chips
- Cook birria tacos with slow-braised beef
- Learn the art of carnitas (braised pork) tacos
- Make authentic al pastor tacos with pineapple and grilled pork
- Create cheesy quesadillas with a variety of fillings
Day 3: Italian Cuisine – Pizza & Pasta Party!
- Master the secrets of homemade pizza dough
- Create and bake personalized pizzas
- Make fresh pasta from scratch
- Cook classic marinara and creamy Alfredo sauces
- Pipe and fill crispy homemade cannoli
Day 4: Mediterranean Cuisine – Classic Flavors from Greece & the Middle East
- Prepare beef & chicken kofta (spiced meatballs instead of skewers)
- Make fresh hummus and tzatziki
- Cook fluffy basmati or herbed rice
- Create a crisp Mediterranean salad with lemon dressing
- Bake pita bread from scratch
Day 5: Graduation Celebration – Pastry Chef for a Day!
- Bake and decorate cupcakes, cookies, and cinnamon rolls
- Make homemade ice cream
- Learn piping and decorating techniques
- Celebrate with a Graduation Certificate Ceremony & Awards! Parents are welcome to attend!
